Originally constructed in the 1960s, the 23-mile stretch of Interstate 10 (Katy Freeway) from its intersection with Interstate 610 west to the City of Katy has become a dynamic corridor of economic expansion. Following a major investment study, an environmental impact study, and final design, reconstruction began in 2003 on the Katy Freeway, which currently serves more than 219,000 vehicles a day. The reconstruction project will foster region-wide economic expansion and prosperity for decades to come. It is an investment in our future. |
