TxDOT working with the contractor has discovered an opportunity to reduce the duration of the direct connector construction by as much as 10 months.

  • With the brief overlap of three connectors closed simultaneously at two separate intervals during the construction and working continuously through the 2007 Christmas Holiday season.

  • Reduction in the duration of construction could equate to as much as a $6 million time savings for the driving public.

  • The table below depicts the proposed sequence of direct connector ramp closures. As we get closer to finalizing the revised traffic control plan this page will be updated with detailed ramps closures dates, time frames and the detours required.

The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramps to BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound and southbound will open Sunday, August 23 marking the completion of the I-10/Beltway 8 Interchange reconstruction with all 8 direct connector ramps open for service.
